HEADQUARTERS @ 7pm
Chairlady Sheila Sturgeon called meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Beth Scholze. Secretary Diane Rose called roll call. Fourteen precinct committee persons were present and two guest. Secretary Diane Rose did not read the September minutes because everyone either read them online or was sent a copy of September minutes. Donna Ruf made a motion to accept the September minutes; Jay Halveland seconded; motion carried.
Treasurer Mike Melville reported we had a balance of $293.55 in checking as of 10 – 3‑2024. Two motions were made by Donna Ruf and seconded by Tim Scholze: The first motion was to accept the treasurer’s report and second motion was to transfer the Finly Gray Dinner proceeds (placemat and ticket sales) to the general fund; both motions carried.
Election Board member Jeannine Eldridge texted Chairlady Sturgeon. The last day to register to vote is Oct. 7 at 11:59 pm. First day to vote early at courthouse is Oct. 8 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. A travel board person is still needed. Jeannine and Dave Nutty will not be doing travel board this time. Chairlady Sturgeon asked if anyone would like to do the travel board. No replies.
Women’s Club— Meeting October 10 @ 7pm. Friday October 25 Chicken Dinner at Presbyterian Fellowship Hall more info later. Men’s — Meeting October 17 @ 7pm. Breakfast (last one for 2024) October 19 from 7 – 11 am. Cost $6.00.
Fundraiser — Donna Ruf reported Oct. 11 is the Art Stroll Walk and we will be selling Apple Dumplings. Cost is $5.00 no ice cream and $6.00 with ice cream. Safe Halloween at headquarters on Oct. 31 more info later.
Chairlady Sturgeon told us the blue booklets had the strong Democrats. She has printed off the leaning Democrats for us to call. She asked how many of has called the strong Democrats? None of us. A lot of us are afraid to go door to door and some do not want their phone numbers out there.
Website — Vice Chairman Terry Sturgeon brought up we need to get some kind of website so we can post our event, etc. Mike Melville told us he bought a domain for $250.00 for three years. The name of it is fcindems.org Also guest Rick Beckman has a domain and told us we could us it at no cost if we went under his name . This was discussed and was decided to meet on October 24 at 7pm to discuss which domain to go with. Phone Banks will be discussed also at this meeting.
Cupcakes and Champaigne with Cindi Wirth from 2pm-4pm at headquarters on October 13.
Gabby Rivera a Senior at CHS made all American at dance camp at BSU asked Chairlady Sturgeon if we would like to sponsor her to represent our community as well as our Nation in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor. Cost of the sponsorship is $50. Jay Halveland made a motion to sponsor Gabby Rivera for $50.00; Beth Scholze seconded; motion carried.
Ed Herrell won the 50/50. Total of $14. Jay Halveland made a motion to adjourned; Beth Scholze seconded; motion carried. Adjournment at 7:43pm.
