- Sheila- cannot sell bottled water at Celebration in the Ville, not a vendor
- Working toward purchasing a projector for a movie night
- Asked if we can give away and put a donation box out, asking why can’t be a vendor- can sell anything inside- for CITV
- Need a temp food vendor with health dept to sell hot dogs etc
- Rummage sale- made $100, lot of things left over, Tammy will sell the rest at her personal yard sale Memorial Day weekend. If any more donations, contact Sheila
- Monthly meals- Central Committee do a monthly meal? Beth suggested a lunch. Tammy suggested Farmer’s Market to capture those customers. FM closes at noon- customers likely won’t come over. Need a consistent schedule. Sync to railroad or other downtown scheduled things. List on RR website. Doing fundraiser during Art Stroll not successful. More information, will talk about again.
- Fair- application will be due ASAP, usually by April. Tent will be 16×16. Tim and Beth Sholze donating a tent, will not have to rent from the fair board. Needs to be a heavy emphasis on fundraising. Temporary gaming license- Bingo night?
- Silent auctions during chicken dinners?
- Do a dinner on one of the weekly nights or the fair?
- Building Committee
- Applied for Urban Enterprise on March 17, have not heard anything back. Next meeting is May 13, new director is Brad Colter
5. Old Business
- Guest Brenda Smith VP of 6th District- shared mobilize.us- is a website that compiles local information/events. Brings more awareness/advertising, easily shared on mobile devices. Also- QR codes to register to vote. Print off and laminate to always have on person. Encourage people to register to vote AND vote in every election. Last year 400,000 Democrats in Indiana did not vote. Make note of houses of houses that make indications of their political affiliation. Small protests/vigils
- Laurel 50501 protest on Saturday May 3
- Donations for building fund- EDG will pay 80% of cost, 6K, will need to come up with $1200 to cover the rest. Set up monthly recurring donations?
- County offices up for election in 2026: Need to get going on finding candidates. Print out list and hand it out at the fair? Start asking. Positions ARE paid
- Protest- thanks for participation, more support than adverse reactions, will plan another one in conjunction with national 50501
- Bereavement- Sheila decided to leave it as it is, $25 donation toward preferred charity. Donna motion to stay the same, Beth seconded, motion passed
6. New Business
- Men’s Club- $ and labor to fix bathroom sink, raise floor in kitchen, bought extra materials to level the floor in the kitchen
- News Examiner- Terry spoke with Donna, can put meeting info etc in the newspaper- current events section
- Beth and Tim went to Scholarship night- helped with Lions Club Scholarship. Wanting to start scholarship fund. Ended because of money issues. Tim has info about deadlines, will get the information to the central committee to look at to decide if we want to do that
- Discord is functional- Remi will be sending information to download/join
- Community dinner- last month served 56 + leftovers, sending signup sheet around for food/time donations
